Here's a few pictures from the past. The Black car is just a little '68 I built a while back to terrorize the kids at the mall. Sold it a few years ago but the drive train lives on in Elena.
The one titled "SCAN" is at the Texas Motoplex Inaugural NHRA race. The first all concrete drag strip constructed in the US . Traction was consistent and the pro cars loved it but it really slowed down the stockers and super stockers a bit. Took some getting used to and some suspension changes to deal with it. Toe in and camber was critical on concrete all the way.
Scan 02 is at Green Valley Raceway, my first NHRA National Event, in D Stock, 1969 428 Cobra Jet GT. I was there early for testing and they used this photo for the program covers. I think it was 1985.
Scan 04 is back at Dallas a few years later. Same car, different paint scheme. Car ran C stock with ram air hood, D stock with flat hood at 3495 pounds, car and driver, and could run E stock is you added 140 pounds in the trunk, with the flat hood. Never really was consistent in E. Hooked up good (front wheels about waist high for 40 feet or so) but was "violent" on the starting line, and going up slows you down. But it sure is fun!
